Gamification with a twist of prediction

The IPL tournament is a collection of cricket games, capturing the minds of the Indians for a month or 2 each year. And celebrating the win of your favourite cricket team includes ordering food and sharing happiness. While leading the growth design team at TinyOwl, I decided to design a campaign around IPL with a hint of prediction in gamification.


The main objective was to increase our number of sales in food ordering. We designed a game with an aim to make the user score more points by predicting the day's winner after each order in the app. These scores were equivalent to discounts on every order with TinyOwl. I designed the mobile interface of this engagement. Thinking about the branding of IPL, I knew that the design had to be eye catching with easy navigation. Understanding the user's needs and behaviour became the key ingredient while designing the experience.
